From the desk of a [South] Jersey Girl

Not born and raised. Born: Daytona Beach, FL. Raised: Pitman, NJ aka suburbs of Philadelphia. I'm not the typical "Jersey girl", but I curse like a sailor (which came in handy while circumnavigating the globe by sea), am quick to anger and generally appreciate over-enthusiastic sports fans.

For right now, I'm a student (gah, who isn't these days?) at the University of Colorado at Boulder, where I'm majoring in Geology and Film Studies. That's all well and good to get a BS in something, but my recurring dream is to become a music supervisor (the people who get copyrighted music for movies & TV). I pretty much like all music, but I tend to favor alternative/pop/rock. I also dig rocks (HA! Geology pun!), the nuclear age, the space race, H.H. Holmes, and traveling.

January 4^th

1. Go to Wikipedia. Look up “List of Hot 100 number-one singles of [year] (U.S.)” and find the #1 song from the week you were born.
2. Find the video on youtube.
3. Post the video without shame

“Right Here Waiting” by Richard Marx - number 1 from August 12-26 in 1989.

Coincidentally, although most people my age don’t know this song from Nsync’s “This I Promise You” (which Marx also co-wrote, betcha didn’t know that!), I saw Richard perform this live in Atlantic City when he was touring with Ringo Starr’s All-Starr Band in 2006.
